Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican “ memorial day” that celebrates the lives of those who have passed. As a beautiful honor to this day, Mr. Garcia’s Spanish class, was given the task of making a little altar for either a family member or celebrity. Shadow boxes were made with pictures and decorations to represent the person; also posters with a background story were created. To show all the beautiful projects and honor each chosen person, a memorial was set up at the library displaying the student’s hard work. It seems like Duncan never has a bad season and makes very few mistakes on the ice. The amount of time he puts into this game really shows his dedication and love for hockey.

Michael Meyers represents the unknowability of the masked figure, a fear that becomes most apparent on Halloween. The tradition of Halloween originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints. Soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain.
Haunted houses are very important to the history of Halloween. If we didn’t have them it just wouldn’t be the same. One reason of the haunted houses were made is for scaring people and entertainment too.
Tomorrow we begin the month of October. October gives us a full month of colorful autumn and ends with the spooky day of Halloween. There are people who enjoy this holiday especially children and those who think it a pagan event. Personally I have always enjoyed Halloween just for the fun of it with nothing other than that. A kind of autumn celebration with carved pumpkins, colorful leaves and the ghosts and ghoulies just for fun.

I wonder how the idea of Halloween even started! Too many theories have been tossed around but there should be a reason why it started. I recently found out that it was a custom of the Romans that had been passed down to this generation. Apparently, they worshipped Samhain, lord of the dead.
Houdini’s career started with the Needle Trick and the Challenge Act. His Needle Trick consisted of Houdini swallowing needles and thread and bringing them back up, all threaded.
