Writing is a good way to help us learn about the world around us. It opens a door for us to understand one another, but most importantly, to understand our Creator. Since the time of the oldest alphabet to today's modern alphabet, it has been the most important discovery that helped early man learn about one another. After Common Core was enforced, the use of handwriting was no longer as relevant because children are now being taught typing skills. And many parents wouldn’t want that for their children. We need to put cursive handwriting back into public schools so students nationwide can learn how to read and write cursive to become successful, and responsible young adults. Students today would get a paper of some sort and they would have to sign their name, now most students would raise their hand and ask “what does this mean?” I know I did once.

In my own opinion, people should be taught to write in cursive, therefore it should be kept in schools. Cursive may not be very essential in our modern lives, yet it is still an important skill to learn. As stated in paragraph three, studies shows that writing in cursive stimulates both sides of the brain as well as helping in the development of fine motor-skills, which does help us in our average lives whether you notice it or not. Being able to write in cursive allows a person to anticipate further and think quickly, which in turn allows for quicker reaction time, and more brain activity. The initiative in physical education is to keep students active and moving, so it may be controversial when students are asked to do a writing prompt for the remainder of the class period.
