Many people have believed Marilyn Monroe to be this perfect female figure, but Marilyn Monroe was far from perfect, just like many other people she faced and went through so many difficult struggles in her lifetime. Ultimately, she persevered through them to become the great figure she was known to be. So many people on the daily go through difficulties, but how do they get through them? Harriet Tubman was a notable figure throughout her time, she managed to help so many people through their problems and became a symbol of hope for many, but what about her struggles, what did she persevere through? Harriet Tubman was born into slavery, just like many others; she had been separated from her family for much of her life, but still always managed to spend time with them. Afterward, Harriet was freed from slavery; she was alone and left without her family; nevertheless, Harriet stayed brave and went back to Maryland, managing to lead many others to freedom, giving them a chance at a new life. Marilyn Monroe, also known as Norma Jeane Mortenson, was known for many things, the biggest being an actress, comedian, singer, and model. She was an icon and a legend in Hollywood history, but she had her fair share of obstacles she had to face. Marilyn suffered from a difficult case of substance abuse and had detrimental mental disorders including depression, anxiety, and a stuttering problem. As a child, she was put into foster care due to her mother being unable to take care of her during her childhood she was bounced around from house to house and had been taken advantage of many times, not to mention in her time being a woman in the industry was not easy. In the end, Marilyn's life's success was not enough to deal with the demons she battled with within.
