Though there is is no exact person who influenced Harriet but “her mother’s courage deeply influenced Harriets beliefs.” she “escaped alone making use of a network known as the Underground Railroad that comprised free and enslaved blacks and white abolitionists and activists. She covered a journey of nearly 90 miles by foot to finally reach Philadelphia, her destination.” when Harriet first began she was first famous for escaping and returning within weeks. But Harriet soon escaped again. She had to overcome the fact that she was a African American slave.
