Harriet Tubman was great woman. This is why and this is her story. Araminta Ross (Harriet Tubman) was born on 1822 in Dorchester County, MD. When she was 6, she got her first job doing weaving with a couple that was very harsh. She was beaten frequently if she slacked at her job. When she turned 11, she wore a bright cotton bandana around her head indicating she wasn’t considered a child no more. She had a rough time when she young.

While being a teenager during slavery, she was in hands of a horrible man. Araminta suffered a life long injury called narcolepsy, a chronic sleeping disorder. The owner had thrown an overseer for another slave but it hit Araminta, which made her have narcolepsy. She was sent back to go work with blood everywhere. After she escaped, she reunited with her father which was freed from slavery at the age 45. …show more content…

John declined to make a voyage with Harriet at the Underground Railroad. So he went on with life and married a woman in Maryland. In 1869, Harriet married an man that was a Civil Right veteran. Then they adopted a baby girl named Gertie.

In early 1859, an abolitionist, Senator William H. Seward, sold Harriet a not big but small piece of land in Auburn, New York. It became haven for Harriet’s family and friends during the years of the war. They were all safe in that house during the war and they were in good hands. All Harriet’s family and friends had residence there.

But where i’m going with this is, she made slavery go away and helped our world. She inspired me because she stopped slavery and led everyone out of slavery. Harriet Tubman was a very helpful, nice woman that helped the African Americans. I’m happy that she helped us because if she didn’t we’ll probably be slaves today. She’s will always be a hero and will always be with
