While sometimes love can be twisted into hate, it takes much hate to put out the fire that is love. "Two households, alike in dignity, in fair Verona, where we lay our scene... On page 45, Juliet says that she "...will look at him and try to like him..." but tells Lady Capulet not to count on her falling in love. This proves that from the very beginning, Juliet has known that she would not fall in love with someone that she was forced to be with. Count Paris is not a negative person, but it's about how Juliet didn't choose him and how she isn't ready to be sold off to some man she doesn't know. It doesn't matter how great he is. For example, on page 81, Juliet says, "I haven't heard you say a hundred words yet, but I recognize the sound of your voice. Are you a Montague? Are you Romeo?" Then Romeo replies by saying, "I am neither of those things if you dislike them." This shows the reader that even though Romeo and Juliet have only known each other for a day, they have already developed deep feelings. This is just the beginning for these star-crossed lovers and this shows, not only is love possible, but deep passionate bonds can be made, and made to last a lifetime.
