Henry Ford was an American automobile manufacturer who created the Ford Model T car. Ford was born on July 30, 1863, in Wayne County, Michigan on his family farm. Ford died near his Dearborn Estate, Fair Lane, on April 7, 1947, in Dearborn, Michigan. At an early age, Henry began taking apart and reassembling timepieces after receiving a pocket watch from his father. He later grew unfond of the farm and he decided to leave home at the age of 16. He left home and accepted an apprenticeship as a machinist at the shipbuilding firm in Detroit. Mr. Ford started studying bookkeeping and learned to skillfully operate and service steam engines. Between the years of 1890 and 1893, Henry Ford was hired as an engineer for the Detroit Edison Company. He was later promoted to the chief engineer for the company. The Ford Quadricycle was his first model car in 1896. With the year of 1896, he presented his automobile plans to Thomas Edison. After presenting his plans to Mr. Edison, Mr. Ford left the Edison Illuminating Company to pursue his car-making business full-time. Having that mindset brought truth to his quote. His quote, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, either way you are right.” proves his point. I believe that this means if you continue to push yourself towards greatness you will achieve your dreams, but if you give up you will never see those dreams come to fruition. Mr. Ford believed that all things were possible and believing in oneself makes one right. Giving up and pursuing one’s dreams lets people know that one believes the dreams are impossible to reach.
