“If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right.” Henry Ford said this meaning, that if you have it in your mind that you can do something you can. And if you are doubting yourself or what you are doing you probably are not going to be able to do it. Henry Ford impacted society by creating very good cheap car, he industrialized automobile manufacturing,and he impacted the economy by making more jobs available.
Henry Ford was born near Dearborn, Michigan, on July 30, 1863. Growing up Henry worked on a farm during the summer and went to a small school during the winter. His mother died when he was 12. It had a two-cylinder engine over the rear axle that developed four horsepower, a single seat fitted in a boxlike body, an electric bell for a horn, and a steering lever instead of a wheel. In 1899 Ford helped organize the Detroit Automobile Company, which built cars to order. Ford wanted to build in quantity at a price within the reach of many. His partners objected, and Ford withdrew. In 1903 he organized Ford Motor Company with only twenty eight thousand that he was able to raise. Early automobile manufactures merely bought automobile parts and assembled the cars. Fords objective was to make every single part for his cars.He acquired iron and coal mines, forests, mills, and factories to produce and shape his steel and alloys, his fuel, wood, glass, and leather. He built railroad and steamship lines and an airplane freight service in order to transport his products.
Fords idea was mass production. Each worker was given one task. He did this over and over until it became automatic. Conveyors brought the job to the workers. So the workers didn't have to waste time going to the job. In order to cut the cost of shipping parts were shipped from the main plants in the Detroit area and they assembled the cars at branch plants.
