This attracted Ford a lot of attention from investors, who were willing to fund the projects for the next seven years, and that is where he founded his own company which he called ‘The Detroit Automobile Company’, later named ‘The Henry Ford Company’ in 1899. Over the course of three years, his investors grew impatient with Ford, as he was busy perfecting his own designs until he eventually left to form his own company yet again, called ‘The Ford Motor Company’. Ford wanted his vehicles to be perfect for the consumer, and after a month of working in his new company, he finished his newest creation, known as a ‘Model-A’. The factory that made these cars were operating at a snail’s pace, only producing a handful of cars a day. This led Ford to try and invent new ways to make the process of building cars much quicker and cheaper, so that it can be bought by the consumer at a reasonable price by means of producing so many of them, and so, the ‘Model-T’ was invented, which was an extremely successful
He then released the model T in 1908, designed for the general population it was the first mass produced car and would get the nickname the "Tin Lizzie". Due to the large demand he created the franchise-dealership system. Because of the incredible efficiency of his factory because of the many subdivisions of labor on the first moving assembly line he was able to create a model T in only 93 minutes. Although the model T originally started at $850 the price eventually dropped to $280 which would take cars from being a luxury item for the wealthy to an item most people can afford which would cause them to sell over 15 million model T’s. The model T had a massive impact on american culture because it turned the car into not only an option for the general population but a necessity.

Henry Ford created and and established the Ford Motor Company. In 1893, Ford put together one of the first gasoline-driven carriages in America, which came to be called the Model T. Ford also created the concept of mass-production and assembly line production in order to meet the high demand of his gasoline-driven carriage, and these processes are still widely used in the United States and throughout the rest of the world today. Although Henry Ford developed the basis of the modern day car and greatly influenced the industrial sphere, I felt that the “Roaring Twenties” held a much more crucial role in the development and recollection of the United States. It is important for individuals in today’s society to understand the relevance of the social, political, and cultural developments and complications that shaped the United States, such as the changing role of women in society, the evolutions regarding race, and the mass culture advancement that is a reflection of present-day
Many American now began to fight for better wages so they could participate in the purchasing of the consumer goods such as the Model T car. Ford was creating a new class of living for the United States not only were they compensating their employees better than most companies but he was lowering the price of cars so that American would be able to purchase them on their income. After the creation of the assembly line Ford could lower the price of his cars by over half from $700 in 1910 to $316 in 1916. The car could be purchased by the working class of America.

As we neared the mid to later 1920s, automobiles became both more widely available and cheaper for people to buy. This was mostly due to how the production process of these cars were being sped up and they kept figuring out ways to make them cheaper and cheaper. During this time, the most common automobile families had was the Model T Ford even though there were tons of different cars on the market. The majority of people had this as it was the cheapest, due to how Henry Ford was able to create a more efficient product assembly line in comparison to all of his competitors. His price for the Model T started out at $850, but eventually went down to only $300 towards the mid 1920s.
Ford chose this direction from the beginning. Its first popular model Ford T that appeared in 1908 cost around $850 – cheaper than most existed analogues. The usage of conveyers helped manufacturer to decrease this price to $290. Chevrolet started with a “luxury” model Chevrolet Classic-Six. While it could be more powerful than analogues with its engine on 30 hp, the price $2,500 prevented its success.

Although Henry Ford began the Ford Motor Company in 1903, it was not until 1908 that his business began to grow and become successful. In 1908 Ford first released the Model T automobile at a price of $825.00. He was able to offer the vehicle at such a low price because in the process of producing the Model T he also developed and perfected the moving assembly line. This reduced the assembly time by over fifty percent, which in turn reduced the price of the automobile. The Ford Motor Company has continued to grow and after over a century of being in business it is now worth around $199 billion.
