Hermes is the god of trade, thieves, travelers, sports, athletics, and border crossing. He was very agile and quick and was found moving between mortal and divine worlds quickly and swiftly. Therefore he made a great messenger for the gods because of his atrocious skills he acquired. Hermes also posses some bad traits and he is known as a trickster and he outruled other gods and robbed them of their self esteem and values and goods. He is not known as a hero for the certain attributes.

Hermes was born Mount Cyllene in 570 B.C.. He was the son of Zeus and Maia and his siblings were Ares, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Aphrodite, Dionysus, Hebe, Heracles, Helen of Troy, Hephaestus, Perseus, Minos, the Muses, the Graces.He married Merope, Aphrodite, Dryope, and peitho. When hermes was little he stole his brothers sacred cattle and raised them so that they could not be tracked by anyone keeping them as his own. From there on he became associated with thieves and began stealing lots of good and other objects and tricked people and took advantage of them. One of his greatest achievements was when he killed the 100 eyed monster known as argos. He lead people to the river styx and took people to the underworld. At one time he stole poseidon's trident artemis’s arrows, and aphrodite's girdle. Hermes also participated in the trojan war at troy as told in homer's story.
