Hades is one of the most well-known gods. He rules over the underworld and all the dead. There are not very many myths about this god, but the ones that do exist are pretty interesting. Hades has interesting myths about creating seasons, punishing the dead, and helping gods on their quests. The most interesting myth of Hades is about how Persephone came to be his wife.

Persephone was enslaved by Hades to stay in the underworld and be his wife; Hermes in the story became the messenger by helping a defenseless woman. Hermes in this tale is demonstrates that integrity leads to great outcomes; therefor, always do good even when no one is watching.
Secondly, another god that shows that the gods are helpful in Odysseus’ journey is Hermes. As Hermes talks to Odysseus, the god mentions “the powerful herb I will give you will prevent [the spell]” (X. 260). The. Hermes gives Odysseus advice and an herb that will help the hero rescue his men. By giving Odysseus the herb, the protagonist is immune to the magic spell that Circe wishes to plant on him to add to her collection of human animals.
While all the Greek gods bare unique skills and incredible talents, Athena, Poseidon and Hephaestus are identified as the most important for humanity. The twelve gods, some more than others, are all important for humanity, but I believe Hephaestus, Poseidon and Athena are the greatest cause for a thriving civilization. Together, both Hephaestus and Athena help civilization rise up and evolve from caves to flourishing cities and Poseidon enables and protects ships as they cross his waters. Hephaestus gift to the world is neither inconceivable nor far-fetched but it is a necessity and a key component leading to a civilized and evolved society. Hephaestus is the god of metal work which includes items like armor, swords and shields, key items for wars and battles.

Hermes was one of the very few gods that helped Odysseus. When Odysseus visited Circe’s island, his men were turned into animals and he has to go save them. “On the way, he meets the god Hermes, who gives him a magical plants—called moly— to protect him from Circe’s power” (Homer 920). Hermes helped Odysseus by giving him a magical plant. That plant made Odysseus immune to any magic Circe curses upon him Hermes warned Odysseus about the capability of Circe’s Magic and what it could do.

Hermes was known as the god of commerce, thieves, travelers, sports, athletes, border crossing, the messenger of the gods and the guide to the underworld. Hermes was the link between the mortal world and the Olympians as was his duty as the messenger of the gods. Hermes was known for having many tasks in Olympus and even more in the mortal world.
She was as important as Aris, the god of war, and favored the prudent outcome of confrontations. Apollo was the god of moral order and music, but his main capacity was to protect the art of divination. This is revealed by the plethora of oracles in various regions of Greece, the most famous being the oracle of Delphi, in Fokis. Apollo is also seen as a pastoral god, protecting his flock from the wolves. He was worshipped by the farmers as the god of the harvest.
