Doc 1: "One blood demands one Reich. Never will the German nation have the moral right to enter into colonial politics until, at least, it includes its own sons." Hitler suggested that Germany needed to unite all Germans under one government, the Reich.
One of the reasons why the world suffered another war is because Germany violated the Treaty of Versailles. They violated the treaty so their country would be great and they would get back to their original status before WWI. Hitler promised the German people that he will bring Germany out of the crash and make Germany more powerful than before. Adolf Hitler shares some of his ideas the German people, ”Oppressed territories are led back to the bosom of a common Reich, not by flaming protest, but by a mighty sword”(Document 1). Hitler is trying to convince the German people that they should start taking over land, not peacefully but by force.
Hitler states that the only way for Germans to “be liberated from the danger of...being enslaved in service to others” is to “rally the German people
The first way in which Hitler appealed to the Germans can be attributed to nationalism. Nationalism, excessive pride in one 's country, caused Hitler and the Nazi Party to seem attractive because it was almost second nature. Germans ' hearts burst with pride and "supreme love of their fatherland..." (doc 2). The people of Germany loved their country, and therefore, loved their leader. They were willing to drop everything and fight for Germany if their leader ordered them to.
This quote describes how Germany felt, “It undermines…a sense of worth, their value of themselves.” Germany felt pathetic and weak after having to take the blame for the war. Germany felt an uprising in enthusiasm when the Nazi regime arose. When Hitler began to come to power he restored a sense of pride and awakened the respect that they had for themselves. In the course of world history, speeches spoken by great orators had lifted souls in pitch-black or provided hope in despair. The orators used various ways in which they were able to persuade their people through rhetorical speeches using pathos, logos and ethos, and different persuasion techniques. Adolf Hitler is known as one of the world’s most influential orators that could gain the support of a nation, as a result of his skills of rhetoric that he intelligently used throughout his speeches. A great example of one of these speeches would be Hitler’s May 4, 1941 Speech in Berlin, the Reichstag. Rhetorical devices are the nuts and bolts of speech and writing since, it is a technique used by an author or a speaker to convince the audiences
Last but not least, Logos is referring to an appeal to logic, by reasoning. The logo technique Hitler applied in his speeches was the “either-or” fallacy, which is known as a false dilemma that is logically fallacious. It happens under a circumstance in which a person makes a statement that presents only two possible options, where there are actually more than these two. This type of fallacy is often made by someone attempting to persuade someone else into believing that only two options exist. Hitler used this appeal to persuade the Germans that although some actions or behaviours were unethical, it was the only option, such as what Hitler claimed “Either the German people annihilate the Jews or the Jews will enslave them.”
Following the terrorist attacks on our country on September 11, 2001, former President George W. Bush addressed the nation. New York City, Washington DC, and the entire country was traumatized by this act of terror. This wasn’t a very long speech, but was very commanding. The goal of this speech was to appeal to all of the American people and to gain further support for what was yet to come.
“Cleo! How dare you did that to me! You promised that you wouldn’t tell anyone!,” Atlanta shouted at Cleo, “even though you’re my best friend, this is unacceptable. I will punish you for this”. Using his power, Atlanta took away Cleo’s big wings and speech, so he could not fly and talk anymore.
9/11 Address Everyone around the country knows about the attacks of 9/11, even most around the world. Though it is not a fun topic to talk about, it was an important part of history and needs to be talked about. The president at the time of the attack, George W. Bush spoke about this topic after the attacks in his speech. George W. Bush’s speech, “9/11 Address to the Nation,” uses ethos and pathos to support the people of America and keep them calm and safe.
On September 11, 2001, an infamous tragedy occurred. Two planes hijacked by terrorists were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and caused both towers to collapse along with the people inside. Later, a third hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, Dc. This incident killed thousands and brought America to its lowest of lows. In response, President George W. Bush delivered a speech to America and others from the Oval Office.
A Time Americans will Never Forget With the many different tragedies happening every day, you would think that the public would grow more desensitized by the day. However, there are periods in time that citizens of the United States (U.S.) will most likely never forget; one in which that is forever imprinted in our minds is September 11, 2001 (9/11) was an unforgettably dark day for the lives of everyone in America. On this day, hijackers flew planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon eventually leading to the death of almost three thousands of people and injuring thousands more (Shambaugh et al. 55). It was a time where people came together as others’ lives were utterly destroyed. George W. Bush, the president at the time,
The killer came to kill, and the victims came to die.” ― Elie Wiesel The only thing Hitler wanted to do was kill, because the Jews didn’t have the same beliefs and religion as him. No one in that camp wanted to die it was simply if you don’t do what I say you die.
Nazism significantly impacted the propaganda, terror and repression in a time of the abolition of the Weimar and rising of Hitler. The German civilization was greatly affected German people from 1933-1939 making the ideology of Nazism change most facets of life. The underlying nature of the anti semitic and nationalist theme amongst the media was a supplement to a large portions of society 's initial views. By the 30th of January 1933, Hitler had been appointed Chancellor. The intentions to commit to the ‘Final Solution’ was obvious when he used propaganda, terror and repression in order to influence and persuade his actions, therefore justifying it to himself and others he took authority over.
But the misery of our people is terrible!” made it sound like he really cared about the people by saying how terrible it is that the people of Germany were in a depression and how they should trust him because other countries destroyed the trust thus destroying the economy. “Germany must not and will not sink into Communist anarchy.” Lastly when he said that it made him sound a lot more trustworthy and like he knew what he was doing more than what he did. Hitler was a really good speaker for how he acted like he wanted to better everyone’s life. With his use of hand gestures, how he would start with his voice being low than get really loud to make him seem so much more emotional and how he would word things to make him seem like a more caring person than people thought.
