750 Word Reflection #1 - In the order of the Holy Eucharist 2004
The Eucharist represents grace, gratitude, and spiritual communion with God. God the Father is entitled to our reverence and respect. Holy – exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness – devoted entirely to the deity or the work of the deity – having a divine quality.
Sacred means to be highly valued or important, dedicated or set apart for the service or worship of deity.
Sacred People
The first guideline in the Holy Eucharist 2004 states that “every celebration of the Eucharist should be an expression of the unity of the whole body of Christ”. 1.
The words in The Gathering “Purify us with the fire of your Holy Spirit that we may love and worship you faithfully”; by reiterating these words if in sincerity from the heart the very meaning of these words show all people to be sacred or set apart for the service and worship of our Lord and Savior.
1 Peter 2:9(NIV)
“But you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

during the 2004 Holy Eucharist all leading to the ultimate intimate personal experience with God our Father. The minute we walk through the doorway of the sanctuary we are standing on holy consecrated ground set apart for the worship of our Lord and Savior. As we progress through the service we begin by gathering in the Lord’s Name; sharing in God’s Peace; Proclaiming the Word of God; Praying with the Church; Offering Thanksgiving; Sharing in the Gifts; Departing in God’s Strength. The Sacred times are expressed – during prayer, praise, worship, reading of scripture, silence, giving and receiving of communion, peace,
