Alongside football games, the Mighty Trojan Marching Band attends many competitions throughout the marching season. Bands true mettle are shown on the field. Competitions are a highlight for many members of the band, since they are filled with rival bands, food and music. While marching band members see band having an ultimatum, get a trophy, or don’t try, Band director Mr. Farrell stresses the importance of professionalism, effort and fun. A soror is entitled to attend the three Rites of passage of any chapter, granted that she is properly attired. Sorors under disciplinary action are not entitled to attend induction and Initiation. The secrets, passwords, signs and grips are never written but are transmitted by word of mouth from one Delta to another. It was six o 'clock at the Friendswood junior high mustang field I was playing strong safety and I had to cover the extra receiver they brought out by the snap I was already beating my man and the next thing I know the ball was sailing my way straight to me. Phi Slam is an organization at The University of Georgia (UGA) that is run completely by and for students. It takes on the challenge of transforming the perception of Athens as a whole in student’s minds. Athens is, and has always been a place where students come to learn but mostly to get the party experience. Most UGA students flock to downtown bars and clubs at night multiple times every week. Downtown Athens is filled with loud music, dancing, alcohol and college students just looking to have a good time.
Win or Lose As humans , we have to lose to win. Life may not always be fair or in our favor but we have to let it run its course. Regardless of how long it takes; devotion, spontaneity, and heart can bring forth an opportunity we would have never been. People can not sit in one place and do nothing and still expect to go somewhere.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Oct. 13th, 2017) – On Oct. 28, Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) will be gearing up for its 2017 homecoming parade. WSSU is celebrating its 125th anniversary by throwing their biggest parade to date. Come out to celebrate with friends and family and the WSSU community.
My church plays in the Turkey Bowl Flag Football Tournament every November. This was not only a time to bond with my youth group, but to also create friendships with other church teams. However, there was a problem: my team consisted of players from age 13-20; however, the 13 year olds had little-to-no flag football experience. Consequently, they got less playtime and slowly became discouraged However, as a leader I wanted to show them otherwise: I coached them, helped them, and give them a new perspective on the game.

To fully appreciate the accomplishments of the Kilgore College Rangerettes, one must first delve into their background and foundation. The Rangerettes are linked to dance because their routine is considered a choreographed dance. The Rangerettes' involvement in football is quintessential to their origin. Lastly, the Rangerettes' evoke Texas pride with their uniforms designed to represent the Texas flag. Under close inspection, three East Texan cultures can be extrapolated from the Rangerettes: football, dance and Texas pride.
The band was invited to participate in Southern University’s homecoming parade and attend their homecoming game. Cameron and I are both in the band; he is trumpet player and I was a color guard member. I was extremely excited to go. This was going to be my trip of firsts.
Throughout the nineteenth century events played out time and time again in college football that would end up having a sweeping significance on American culture. Issues such as racism and women having a larger part in the sports world were dealt with. Business and the art of cheating through one’s sports team were seen as growing rapidly in the football world and obviously having a vast effect on how American business would end up carrying itself. College football and all of its antics would end up not only transforming the American culture then, but everything that was decided on then would set the tone for college football and how it operates now and American culture and the system is handled today.
Wanting my name to be known, I joined many clubs, and even ran for a position in our Student Government. When the nomination day finally came around, my nerves were torn to pieces as I waited on the afternoon announcement for those who made the Homecoming list. Our president began sputtering names that were not mine, and I immediately became discouraged. “How could I not be on the list? This is wrong!”
Many people go teepeeing especially during homecoming week, but they do not always do it correctly. If you do not now what teepeeing is it is where people put toilet paper all around other people's yard as a prank. The people who get teepeed might not think it is funny, but it is all good hearted fun. It is not hard to be a adept at teepeeing during homecoming week all you have to do is practice and follow these simple steps.
To celebrate highlander pride, the University of California Riverside hosts an annual Homecoming week. Homecoming weekend took place November 13-18, 2017; through the entire week several events were hosted, all leading up to Bonfire. The UCR Bonfire was held on November 17,2017 and it took place on lot 19 from 6pm-10pm. The Associated Student Program Board hosted the event. The Bonfire allowed students to enjoy a night of live DJ performances, food, rides,fireworks,school spirit, and of course, burning the opposing team’s mascot in the bonfire.
College, and college life is something you think that never ends but something that comes to an by a snap. As we come into college, we join in multiple activities and organizations to get involved. One of the highly-participated or known to be organizations on campuses are Greek life. For some students, Greek life is something new, but for others it was known as they become seniors, or from their sibling and cousins. A myth or fact of brotherhood and sisterhood?!
