From this vantage point, Ancient Israel, understood and interpreted sex as a positive gift from God. The Hebrew people were not affected by the Greek dualism between spirit and matter, which considered sexual intercourse as evil or sinful. Instead, Hebrews saw sex within marriage as beautiful and enjoyable, wedding celebration, because it represents the beginning of the sexual life of the couple. At the end of the wedding festivities, the couple makes love together while lying on a clean white sheet. In those days, the mark of blood on the sheet provided evidence of the consummation of marriage (Deut 22:13-19), indicating that the bride had been a virgin. This demonstrates that ancient Hebrews viewed sex as a divine gift, which gave pleasure
