Augustus was the one who actually inspired the morale of Rome and ended the entire century of disorder and corruption. Under his regulations, he lead Rome into the famous age – pax Romana. The pax Romana last for entire two centuries. Rome during that period embraced it long-term peace and prosperity. His efforts showed on different social areas. Firstly he implemented many social reforms. Secondly, he won various battles against with opponents and expending his territory. Thirdly he supported and push the development of Roman literature, art, architecture and religion. After Augustus died, the Senate agreed to rise Augustus to the status of a god. However, under the ruling of Marcus Aurelius, the conflict between Parthia, Armenia and Germanic tribes from the north made the Rome was not in peace anymore. Under the consulting of Council of Nicaea, Constantine officially established Christianity as Roman religion. However, Constantine died 30 years after.
