Knights beliefs were also very religion centered, as shown in The Son of Roland “God, I acknowledge my guilt and I beg for Thy mercy for all the sins, greater and lesser, which I have committed from the hour my birth until this day … Angels descend out of heaven and come to him” (Doc
Underneath the nobles and barons, there are knights that are trained from the age of 7. In return for service to the nobles and barons, they are given grants of land. The peasants and serfs are on the bottom of the social system, there are peasants who farm the land in return for shelter and protection (history.com). This compares with
The knights had a code they lived by. Honor, bravery, chivalry, and courtesy. This code was called knightly chivalry. The monarchy also brought the artisan class and changed the attitude toward the church and religion.
These relationships were called feudalism (Doc. 1). Feudalism and the Church greatly contributed to the social, economic, and political life in Europe in the Middle Ages. “Feudalism was a political, economic, and social system which included kings, nobles, knights, and serfs (Doc. 1).” Every position or status had a job that benefitted another ranking (Doc. 1). By 1000 A.D. the promise had become a social order. Thus, Feudalism was born. The king would hand out land to noblemen who would pledge their loyalty to him. The noblemen would be judge, jury and executioner in legal issues. Noblemen would also maintain an army and impose taxes.
However, this could be better seen in their form of government. Feudalism was a system that had land owners at the top (Kings and lords) and those who worked the land and keep the community safe at the bottom. It was basically impossible to move between social classes, and a desire to keep the rich with the rich meant that one couldn’t marry into money It was a social, economic, political, and legal system that stood in place for hundreds of years. The system, however meant that the government was weak, and it rarely stretched far; the larger the kingdom, the harder it was to keep it working. It also meant there were a lot of poor people living in the fifteen hundreds.
Rome was the most powerful and successful Empire in history. After the fall of Rome, an era called the Middle Ages came. Even though Rome fell, the Middle Ages still had roots in the classical heritage of Rome and the beliefs of the Roman Catholic Church. Germanic Invaders destroyed Rome's economy, government, and culture. Learning declined and a common language was lost which resulted in the emergence of Germanic kingdoms.
Throughout the journey two tales were told. They held very few similarities, and quite a few differences. These two tales were told by men from two completely different walks of life. One was a noble knight who won battles, put others before himself, and took great pride in his two most impressive horses. The other was a pardoner, who did not believe most of what he taught, conned people for their money, and knew how to put on a show to make the all the poor peasants believe every word he said.
The medieval times lasted from the 6th century to the 16th century. The medieval era wasn 't a pleasant time for people to be alive as it was a time were punishments and trials were really harsh and dangerous. During this time, it was easy for people to commit a crime. Crimes that are now seen as something insignificant were perceived as a horrible offence such as sleeping on the streets and talking behind peoples back. The society in the medieval times were organized by the feudal System.
Development of the Renaissance Era is discernible through shifts in the long-established power of the Catholic Church towards the prominence of the merchant class's influence, leading to changes in the traditional social structure. Under this system, nobles who had inherited wealth by being born into high social statuses and the Catholic Church sponsored individuals in these areas. When the merchant class gained power, this sponsorship transferred to wealthy private citizens usually without the strong affiliations of the Feudal System and the Catholic Church. As a result the works of arts and sciences produced in the Renaissance Era were unbound

This evidence shows that knights were brave and had no fear, and it also tells us that knights were an important part of the feudal society
A Knight’s Tale and the actual Middle Ages. Knights were honored and respected in the movie, as well as they were in the Middle Ages. Peasants took up about ninety percent of society in the movie and in medieval times, too. Peasants were called the Commons because there were so many of them.
