Julius Caesar has accomplished various achievements throughout his lifetime that impacted Roman society. Caesar made major contributions to politics and history, and his commitment to his work ensured that he was successful up until the point of his death. Some of Julius Caesar’s greatest achievements are his position as a capable military leader, Julius Caesar led several successful expeditions, including the conquest of Gaul. His victories in battle established him as a strong leader and contributed to the territorial expansion of the Roman Empire. However, that title was quickly revoked when he was infamously assassinated by political rivals in the same year. Caesar, however, nonetheless managed to make a variety of contributions that benefitted and had a long lasting effect on Roman society before he passed.

Julius Caesar was a skilled military commander who led several successful campaigns, including the conquest of Gaul. His military victories helped expand the Roman Empire’s territory and secured his position as a powerful leader. The army of Julius Caesar, who invaded Gaul, consisted of 40,000 Roman men. Gaul at that time compromised a portion of what are now France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, and the British Isles. Over the course of several conflicts, Caesar was able to subdue the Gauls. Julius Caesar stayed for a total of nine years to conquer Gaul. Finally, Caesar was able to successfully bring Gaul under his control and as a result was able to integrate Gaul into the Roman empire. This victory extended the Roman Empire to the Upper River in the north and the Atlantic Ocean in the west. Gaul’s agriculture was improved by Caesar, and the native people respected Caesar for introducing agriculture to them. While ruling Rome, Julius Caesar introduced a variety of political and social reforms that enhanced the quality of life for Roman people. Some political and social reforms includes reducing the amount of slaves and offering citizenship to more individuals, implementing land reforms that provided land to veterans and unprivileged individuals, reforming the tax system to make it simpler and less harsh for ordinary citizens, constructing new public works such as aqueducts and highways, to enhance access to clean water and transportation and lastly, adopting new legislation that will protect the rights of women and children. By creating a new codification of Roman law, known as Lex JuliaCaesar was able to modify the laws in the legal system outlined above. This is regarded as a big accomplishment of his since before his time, Roman law was considered a complicated structure that was challenging for the majority of people to comprehend. The law was made more understandable to regular citizens of Roman society by this new legal code, which also made it simpler. This legal code addressed a wide range of legal issues, such as inheritance, marriage, and criminal law.
