Caesar is apart of the Julian Clan. The Clan claims to be the descendants of Venus and Lulus. His Family is very historic in Rome. It is said they have “more history than money” (Witkowski 1). To better their society in their various time periods, the Julian clan worried about the common people more than the rich. They wanted to better everyone and make everyone equal. Julius Caesar, as he is better known, based his career on finance and politics. Rome was a republic before Caesar’s reign. A republic is a governmental system where the vote of the rich counts more than the poor. The roman republic fell because they needed money to survive and the landowners and military crashed. He was very forceful in his military set up. He would go ahead and rush people if they were threatening him. His opponent, Pompey, had troops on his side trying to kill Caesar. His term was ending and he didn’t want to be killed as a citizen, when he has zero power. So, he went right at Pompey and struck first. He charged into foreign territory to attack Pompey’s army. His famous line of, “Alea Iacta est.” (Thorne 67-68), means the die has been cast. This meant nothing would stop him from getting rid of Pompey. He had a plan to rush attack Pompey’s Army and that is exactly what he did. He defeated Pompey’s army. As a result of Pompey’s army being defeated, Caesar becomes dictator. He strived to get rid of many social problems like widespread debt, caused by the fall of the Republic. Caesar’s military tactic of attacking before they expect Caesar’s military skills set him apart from every other ruler or person in Rome. His military tactics were unlike anyone else’s, so it is said to have been “unlike any mortal man” (This quote of 2“any mortal man” (witkowski p.5) just means his tactics are just unseen before and work to perfection. Caesar tough military skills made it very easy for his government to run because everyone worked along with
