How Did Katniss Become The Mockingjay

The story first presents Katniss going off into District 12 in the diseased ashes left by the bomb the Capital had sent. It had been a month following to Katniss' rescue from the arena after shooting at the force field. During that time she stayed in the underground where District 13 was found; they were the core of the revolution and they went by the rule of President Coin. She had gone to District 12 because she wanted to see her once called home. Gale had led people out, this including Katniss’ mother and sister. The new District 12 foreigners have been taken and greeted into District 13. Yet though a month had gone by Katniss feelings for Gale and Peeta are well mixed, and she still doesn't know how to feel to Peeta's capture by the Capital.

Katniss feels the high demand and requirement that comes from District 13 for her to be the Mockingjay, a role she must play but has little trust in herself to do so.

Ultimately, Katniss at the end does acknowledge she is to become the Mockingjay, but it’s only after she sees Peeta being interview on tv requesting for a ceasefire. Katniss makes a list of demands of the things she wants/requires to become the Mockingjay. Katniss then learns that Cinna--Katniss clothing designer-- was killed, yet he had already obtained all of her Mockingjay uniforms. She also finds her prep team was imprisoned in District 13’s cells deep underground, where they had been harassed and exceedingly harmed. She saves them from their harming but gets cautious of Coin's form of rule.

President Coin later calls an assembly of District 13 because of a request made by Katniss, the assembly was made to announce Katniss’ approval of her play as the Mockingjay and the immunity of Peeta and the other caught tributes they should get back. Yet Coin then adds, if Katniss is to differ or stray from her role as Mockingjay, immunity will be denied and all the found tributes--which would include Katniss--and they will be subjected to the laws of District

Haymitch showed great ennui since District 13 doesn’t allow alcohol and/or laughs at the propo and points out that the failure of the first propo was due to Katniss's inability to act to non-genuine outlines. Coin finds truth in what Haymitch says because he was the mentor for Katniss and Peeta in the Hunger Games. So Coin send to Katniss, a team of bodyguards and a (new) camera team to go to District 8 that same day to get more practical scenes and props.

As they made their way to District 8, Katniss acknowledges that the rebels that go against the Capitol have taken over every district but District 2. The rebels' plan had been to take over each and every district if they gain the power of District 2 it would cut the supplies of the Capitol.

While in District 8, Katniss goes to meet Commander Paylor and she pays a visit to the injured people in a hospital. The injured people find the sight of her and they try to make any form of contact with her. As Katniss and her team make a leave, an airstrike overcomes them and targets the hospital. Katniss and Gale make their way to a rooftop to shoot the bombers. As the attack comes to an end, Katniss oversees the ruined hospital, to their knowledge there were no survivors. Overcome by madness, Katniss sends a message to Snow, all caught by the camera
