Mark Chapman Murders a Beatle
Mark Chapman may not be a someone that everyone knows but, almost everyone knows who John lennon the beatles front man who was murdered. Well Chapman was the man that murdered him lennon and that’s what Chapman is known for. I am going to explain to you in this essay why he murdered lennon and some of the events that lead of to it.
Growing up Mark Chapman was not a popular kid at school, was bad at sports, his father abused his mother and in his early teen years started using drugs such as marijuana and eventually using drugs such as cocaine. Then when he was around sixteen years old he completely changed and became a reborn christian and got a reborn christian girlfriend and became a counselor at the YMCA.

Things were starting to fall apart for Chapman he had planned suicide attempts. One time he did not go through with it then another time he went through with it and failed and then checked into a mental hospital. After that he then turned things around again for only a period of time however. Then after going between a few jobs and many different obsessions he had decided to kill his longtime idol John Lennon. So when he became completely set on killing Lennon he bought a gun and went to Lennon’s apartment and staked out the apartment until one day he saw Lennon and his wife leaving the apartment and instead of trying to kill him he asked Lennon to sign one of his albums that Chapman had recently bought. Chapman even said years after this event that Lennon was very kind to him when he asked for the autograph John took his time with Chapman even with his wife waiting in the car for him and after he signed the autograph asked if there was anything else Chapman wanted before he left. After this event chapman was trying to stop himself from killing Lennon for hours after he left chapman stood outside the apartment for hours trying to convince himself to not kill Lennon. Then after many hours Lennon returns from a recording session at and as he was walking to his door Chapman shot at Lennon five times hitting in the back four times and missing once.
