Martin Luther King, Jr was the most influential and important Civil Rights leader during the 20th century, having led the Civil Rights Movement during the mid-1950’s through the 1960’s until his untimely death. He was a preacher, a father, a leader, and a martyr for a movement that helped secure the rights of colored people in America. Even today Martin Luther King’s influence is still felt.
