During World War 2, the inventing of nuclear weapon was started. Nazi Germany and United State were the axes of that. As Nazi Germany got great result from their project, US also gathered scientists and worked on nuclear weapons. However, the war finished before the success of any nuclear weapons. Nazi Germany gave up the war and their nuclear project was also ended. Although Nazi Germany stopped devising nuclear weapons, US decided to maintain their project because of Japan, a nation which was still fighting. On July 16th, 1945, they invented the first nuclear weapons and dropped them in Japan. Immense damages occurred. Japan showed the white flag, and the war finished. While the two nation concentrated on the developing nuclear weapons, UK, China, and France also invented their own nuclear weapons. US and Soviet Union started to worry about the spreading of nuclear weapons and held a conference. They discussed about banning of nuclear weapons. In June 12th, 1969, the UN GA adopted Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), and following this flow, September, 1996, they adopted the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT). Although most of the nations joined the treaty, some nations didn’t joined it. There are still five nations which don’t join the treaty and working on nuclear weapons secretly. They are India, Pakistan, Israel, Iran, and DPRK. For the peace of the world, their nuclear weapon problems should be solved as soon as possible.
