World War II was a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945 and involved many major countries. The war began with the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany. It rapidly spread throughout Europe and progressed to outside countries. The thing that most angered Germany and could even be labeled as the origin of World War II was The Treaty of Versailles at the end of World War I. World War Two managed to completely change American society in numerous ways. One of the aspects transformed was US’s foreign policy. Before the war, US was an isolationist. They had neutrality acts to keep them from engaging in Europeans armed hostilities, refused to join the League of Nations and the world court, and were overall not involved in world affairs. After WW2, the United States frequently intervenes, never retreats, they also have military bases all around the world, they joined the League of Nations (which they stationed in NY), and were overall more active in foreign policy.
Throughout American history, it is no longer once it was use to be. Through evolution of events and the people, every decision impacts how history will continue. With the public voicing their concerns and leaders moving the nation in the direction in hopes that will further opportunities to create a greater country. American history is often portrayed as a story of consistently expanding opportunities that has changed the lives of different groups of Americans, and has brought Americans together as well as pushed them apart.
Major Impacts From World War II In 1939, the world entered one of its darkest periods when World War II began. Roughly 27,084,100 total deaths were recorded (Doc. 6). In 1942, American troops officially entered the conflict. Although the war was fought abroad, it had a great impact on the American homefront.
Both World War I (WWI) and World War II (WWII) changed the idea of freedom by expanding rights in America. Before these wars, there was inequality among genders as well as ethnic groups. WWI was a fight democracy and WWII was a fight for true freedom. While WWI changed the idea of freedom in a social sense, WWII focused more on the idea of economic freedom. WWI changed the idea of freedom more for democracy than WWII did by dealing with civil liberties and social issues.
World War II lasted from 1939 until 1945. The vast majority of the world’s nations participated in this global war, eventually forming two opposing alliance’s, the Allies and the Axis. As the most widespread war in history, more than 100 million people from 30 different countries were directly involved. The major participants threw their entire economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities into the war effort, which blurred the lines between civilian and military resources. The war resulted in an estimated 50 million to 85 million fatalities, making World War II the deadliest conflict in history (Sommerville 5).

My understanding of World War II has changed greatly, I have come to learn that we were not as innocent as we say we were. We were biased in many ways, we indirectly invoked our involvement in the war. We studied World War I, and at the time, I thought that the espionage act was unconstitutional. I now think that is was a necessary evil after seeing the separation on the home front. In World War II we were more united and separated than ever before.
Similar to the first World War, World War II was a dispute between powers and or countries and involved the death of million of civilians and militants of those disputing countries. There are many events that have made World War II significant and i will show you in this essay. World War II started basically because of one of the most known killer in the world Adolf Hitler. His role in the Holocaust is greatly significant because of the way that he punished, treated, and through of jews using concentration camps. In concentration camps jews were gassed, imprisoned and forced to do things that they didn't want to like forced labor.
Between 1939 and 1945 widespread military conflict occurred. This event was and is known today as World War II. World War II was a very influential part of our history as it shaped the course that our world has taken today. Known as the largest armed conflict in history, the war involved more countries than any other known war and resulted in the introduction of dangerous new weapons such as the atomic bomb. Over 60 million people died, which meant that over 2.5% of the world’s population was lost.
World War II impacted the world greatly, and it brought many changes such as made countries fight against each other, and formed major alliances between countries. Most importantly World War II not only changed the world by creating new ways to destroy countries, using mass murders, invasions, deportations, and assassinations. It also dehumanized Jewish people, brought new advancements to the world, pushed technologies to it’s limits and it was the main reason for the creation of new vehicles and new weapons. It all began with the German Expansion across Europe. “Nazi Germany unleashed World War II with the intention of establishing, by military conquest, a permanent dominance over Europe respectively.”
World War II was one of the most-deadliest wars in U.S. history. The German government was overthrown by a man named Adolf Hitler. Germany was going through a depression at the time of Hitler’s take over. Germany had to ration out food to help save money and resources. Hitler decreased the Jewish community’s rations to nothing.
After WWII, society took a drastic change for the better in America. America had just gone through the Great Depression, which was the deepest decline in America’s whole history and everyone was affected. Numerous people lost their jobs and were no longer able to afford basic necessities like a house, food, and water. Many could no longer support their families and had nothing. This was all in result of the market crashing, sending the economy into a downward spiral.
