“Cigarette Advertisements; The change Over Time.” Over the last eighty years, tobacco companies have used advertisements to promote their cigarette products to consumers. Although, tobacco products are now being heavily regulated by the American government; tobacco companies still use different kinds of advertisements to bring consumers especially young teenagers to buy their cigarette products. Research have shown that cigarettes can cause addiction and is one of the leading causes of lung cancer among young adults. Furthermore, tobacco companies still try to advertise their product regardless of the health issues it causes. Cigarette advertisement has change over the past few decades as society have change by targeting their advertisement towards a different kind of consumer for example young adults. The complex of the young women’s body tells us that Lucky Strike cigarettes makes us look more beautiful and healthier when using this product. The young women’s appeal shows how much happiness it can be gain when using Lucky Strike cigarettes. The background of the advertisement shows how someone whether poor or not can also gain joy and contentment and feel like someone who is wealthier because they are using the same product as them. This is shown by the figure of a young men’s attire in which he could be consider a “Hill Billy” with no shoes and a hat. Therefore, the information is directed to consumers that want to change their cigarettes brand into a Lucky Strike cigarette because it will give them the feeling of happiness and joy. The information of the advertisement also tells the consumer that Lucky Strike uses high quality tobacco with a rich and fine taste that consumers will like better than other cigarette
