I think persons should be prosecuted for a mean statement in Social Media. There are a lot of mean things in Social Media. This hate could cause a lot of internal and external damage in the victim or in the offender itself.
My first reason is, people can make fake profiles of people. They could start doing things that usually the victim doesn't do or that does not correspond on what he normally does. Like what happened to the victim in the Radio Interview. (Radio Interview, pg 24 lines 5-7) . About someone making a fake profile and starting texting known people and flirting and breaking up with the persons girlfriend and sending a lot of garbage to the rest of the known people.
My second reason is, in a survey that did to teen from the age of 12-18, what did they think it was the number one reason why cyberbullying existed. 81 percent of the teen said, “They think its funny to make people feel bad on the

Sigmon claim that “regulation of the internet to protect children is incredibly stupid and pointless”. This could mean that the aggressor might not stop with that and there are many ways he could attack, so for the author it's pointless. It is something that is always going to be there.
In my opinion kids shouldn’t have a federal crime, but have a warning to not do it again or temporally be blocked from the social media that, the “crime” had been committed at. Cyber bullying its a abuse and it needs to stop. I get that people want to “protect’ children but a federal crime it's a little bit to extra. I think the best way to describe its by saying, its like drugs. A lot of people do these protest and try to stop them in so many ways, but they are still there.
