During World War Ⅱ, hundreds of Jews were hunted down and sent to concentration camps where they were destined to die in such inhumane ways. Many weren't fortunate enough to tell their personal stories, however what they wrote down on paper and ink is what helps historians remember this time period. Out of the many different stories from victims of World WarⅡ, a very famous one was from a young girl by the name of Anne Frank. Anne Frank is very famous for her diary mainly because her father survived and got the chance to publish it. The Diary of Anne Frank, 1959, a play by F. Goodrich and A Hackett is based on the diary of Anne Frank while she was hiding. In this play we witnessed dramatic changes in the characters throughout the plot. The reason as to why this change is the most important one, is because mental change, is something everyone experiences in their life and helps the person change their perspective of what surrounds them. This change allows for people to learn about new ideologies and allows for new ideas. As mentioned earlier, this change can be seen on many of the characters, however the character who had a very noticeable mental change was Anne Frank. In the beginning of the movie, we are introduced to an optimistic and immature version of Anne. The first scene shows Anne’s enthusiasm for going into hiding thinking it will be “A great adventure”. Throughout the first months of hiding, Anne is very self centered and confident in the war ending soon. She complains about the diminished space and is too blinded to realize that the people living outside are having worse issues. Anne’s arrogant mentality towards going into hiding stays about the same until Mr. Dussel, a german dentist and jewish refugee, joins the Van Daans and the Franks into
