Many people “ stick their necks out for the common good,” and do this “ to make the world a better place. ” These individuals deserve recognition for all their good deeds. This is what the Giraffe Project in Washington state is about. The small foundation has several criteria to identify the person who deserves the award. One is a giraffe must act out of caring. Also, a giraffes activities must be ultimately healing, not decisive. A giraffe must be taking a significant risk either physical, financial, or social. Another criteria is they may well rock the boat, but they do it to make things better, not just more exciting. Also, a giraffe acts above and beyond the call of duty and there only giraffes when they go above and beyond their job description. Given these criteria there were many possible candidates that deserve the Giraffe Award.
Some people may claim that Betty Washington is the best candidate for the giraffe award Betty Washington meets all the criteria given. She acts out of caring to help all children and adults in her area. Her activities are ultimately healing,not deceive. After her actions and activities there had been more arrests of drugs dealers in her area.
