Setting goals and achieving them is not always easy. In the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness” Chris Gardner shares his story as he struggles to accomplish his goals. Throughout the story Chris goes through many ups and downs, but at the end of all of it he was still happy. In the movie, “The Pursuit of Happyness” the main character, Chris Gardner, achieves his goals by being willing to suffer at the moment in order to have a better future, making sure that his son is safe and has a good example, and following through on his promises. While Chris and his son were outside playing basketball, Chris tells his son that he doesn’t want him playing basketball all night and day. Chris also makes a comment to his son that since he was below average at basketball, then so will he. Christopher becomes sad and gave up and stopped playing basketball. Chris noticed what he had said wasn’t right and changes his words and tells him to not let anyone tell you, you can’t do something, not even me, if you have a dream, you gotta protect it. This shows that he wants his son to believe in himself and not ever think he can’t ever do something. Or when him and his son were invited to a football game and Chris doesn’t want to go but his son does. And he sees how excited his son gets and knows he hasn’t ever been to a football game.
