Firstly, the stories "A Worn Path" by Eudora Welty and "Hands" by Sherwood Anderson are similar in that they both address the universal concept of being an outsider through the complex characters of Phoenix Jackson and Wing Biddlebaum. Both of these stories are quite moving. It is from the point of view of these kinds of people that the writers dive into the issues that come along with living on the outer edges of society.
