Media Influences our Perception of Criminals We have come across television shows, the news or even surfed the Internet about criminals. I would like to explain on how the media tries to influence the perception of readers, viewer and listeners on what a criminal is. It is hard to escape and or avoid the media in today’s society and seem that everywhere that I turn I am hearing watching or reading about someone’s point of view about a crime and if criminal was in their right. Journalist and broadcasters all try to express their opinion they choose on the race, economical standing, even the type of crime committed to bend their audiences opinion. There are so many shows that have put crimes on different scales and sway their audiences’ opinions to whether or not the crime is bad or worse. It is interesting that people can get influenced of what they watch. I know that there is a psychology to these shows, but interesting to know that people get can change their opinions on.
I am also going to get into the news and how their audience to be on sides. It seems that when a crime become news worthy how the news and their reporters try to bring out all the negative side of what a criminal has done and influence peoples opinions by what they report. I have noticed that the news can also sway a criminal to be in the praise or in the not so graces of their viewers
I am going to go into the Internet and how some sites can influence people. Surfing the web can make criminals into a modern day Robin Hood or a modern day Manson. A person can surf the web and have their opinion change on criminals. Depending on what a person thinks their is always a site or an article that can make a person think twice on deciding weather a criminal is a criminal and if the crime that was committed that
