Rikki Tikki Tavi is a book of a brave mongoose trying to save the day by fighting off cobras. In this book we see Rudyard Kipling’s own experiences living in India like Rikki Tikki living in humid India. Rikki Tikki is a brave mongoose who risks his life for others. He was very loving because he put others first. This book takes place in humid India meaning there are cobras. This means Rikki Tikki can show his bravery fighting the cobras, saving the humans and other animals. He is confident in his abilities to kill these cobras. He also was very strategic, plans his next attacks on the cobras. But he also wanted to prove to the human family that he was trying to protect them, not harm them. The family tends to him and Rikki then goes exploring around his new home. He later runs into an upset bird, the bird is sad because a cobra had just eaten it’s baby. Rikki is furious. He goes and tries to kill the cobras, nearly killing himself. He knew that it would be dangerous to kill the cobras, but someone would have to do it before the cobras cause even more trouble. Rikki later finds out that the cobras want to kill the humans. Rikki kills Nag, the husband cobra. This gets Nagiana, the wife, mad. Rikki kills all of Nagianas egg, but one which he uses to lure her out of the humans house, saving the humans. Rikki then defeats the cobra mother, Nagiana. From the death of Nagiana, the humans were saved. The humans and Rikki celebrate with a feast. Rikki then spends the rest of his life guarding the
