Has there ever been a time when you didn't communicate well and something went wrong? I have had these types of communication mishaps happen too. In these two stories and one play, communication was desperately needed, but didn’t happen. One of the stories had many deaths throughout because of many communication errors. In this essay, I will be discussing how communication would be best in these situations. In the story “The Possessive” the mother and daughter never have good communication. They are very distant in the story and didn’t have a good relationship. In the story, the daughter always had a different style than what her mom wanted her to have. Her mother's expectations for her daughter were high and it would always make Ni Kan insecure about how she is. Ni Kan believed that she would never impress her mother for anything. Her mother forced her to do things that she did not want to do. Nikan’s mother then gave her the piano that she would always force her to play. Her mother then passed away a few months later, but she kept the piano to remember her. In the story “Romeo and Juliet” the Montague family and the Capulet family are the biggest enemies. The family feud caused Romeo and Juliet to not be able to be together. Romeo and Juliet fell in love with each other at first sight. They could never tell their parents, because the families disliked each other. Eventually, Juliet's parents force her into an arranged marriage, which is a problem because she and Romeo loved each other. Juliet still never told her parents about her love for Montague, instead she said she would go with the marriage.
