These are two ways that social media has enhanced my personal life. One way social media enhanced my personal life is it allowed me to locate some of my family that I have never met. Now it easier and better way for me to stay in contact with them not only that we can see each others pictures and comment on each others posts. The second way social media has enhanced my personal life is allowing me to access different social media networks and groups. Because of this I have met new people and made new friends. Also social media networks help me keep distracted when I am depressed. It allows me to focus on something else other than my emotional crisis. We were messaging back and forth then I began noticing he could not recall details from conversations that I had with my friend. I then knew I was talking to someone else. I messaged my friend told him about the profile he said he knew about it but he didn’t know who was doing that to him. I told him not to worry I would get the person to send me a picture. I went back to messaging the other person who was pretending to be my friend. I told him I knew he wasn’t my friend and he explained to me what happened and why he was doing it. He sent me his pictures so I knew who I was talking to. I then sent them to my friend we both reported the profile it then was blocked by the social media network. I learned to be more cautious and if something does not seem right check it out, analyze and decide what is best to do in that particular situation. I read this article from The New York Times " We Want Privacy, but Cant Stop Sharing " written by Kate Murphy. This article explains that because so many people share so much personal information about themselves on social media it makes it difficult for people to ask that changes be made to keep things private online.
