In “The Gamer’s Dilemma”, Morgan Luck seeks to align the moral standards of virtual murder and pedophilia. He does so with an illustration from history that of slavery, by showing that slavery was socially acceptable he claims thusly that it must be viewed as morally correct in the realm of this argument.
Ever since the start of humanity, Human beings have always experiment on ways to find enjoyment. From competing with other people, to even watching others partake in activities for their own satisfaction, we as humans will go through any means to find our enjoyment. As technology evolved through the years, so do our way of play. In the 1970s, televisions were a revolutionary product and the addition of color made it the most marketable product on the market. Some companies took advantage of the era and created appliances for the TVs known as video game home consoles.
There were three big game consoles introduced in the era of 1976-2000: Nintendo, Sega, and Sony Playstation. The first video game ever was "Brown Box." In 1967, game consoles were not that popular until Nintendo came out with the Color TV game. A problem with the game was that it could only have one title. Then Nintendo came out with the Entertainment system which was one of their biggest hits and gamers could play as many different titles as they wanted.
In school, lectures to young students can be very boring and cause them to get side track and not pay attention which could be harmful to their grade, but what if you put the teaching into a video game? It is almost sure that a young student would sit and pay attention as he or she plays the game to finish the level, but in the end actually learn something. Soccer has drastically changed since the inception of the sport. Not only the rules have changed, but so have the various play styles. In the early days, the main focus in soccer was on scoring goals. Teams would use up to seven attackers, and only one or two defenders. This often resulted in very high score lines, with many games ending with ten or more goals.
From then and throughout the 80’s, Companies built many iconic games such as Pac man, space invaders, Tron, donkey Kong and Frogger. Games got more advanced as time went on. Better graphics and smoother controls. However, in mid 90’s, the industry slowed down, the same time the PlayStation one came out. This is when the golden age of arcade games ended.
The games were often seen as a distraction for the kids. They often played with marbles and they flew kites. They also played with spinning tops. The girls would play with dolls and sew and spin clothes. The boys would do cattle herding and fishing.
During that time, Atari set the standard for video games. Before Nintendo came along in the late eighties, the word Atari was synonymous with video gaming. Even more popular than the system itself were the games that were created to go along with Atari 2600. O Adventure - Frequently considered the first action adventure video game, Adventure allowed gamers to move a character through colour coded castles in search of swords and keys. O Asteroids - A favored of Star Wars fans everywhere, Asteroids gave players the opportunity to control a space ship through hyperspace and shoot at various kinds of space debris.
Galaga is visually a classic arcade game in the 1980s, due to all its unique characteristics it carries compared to its contemporaries, and even compared to today’s games. As technology improves through the years, the topic of inequalities come into conversation. When a new technology is released, initially, only the wealthy can afford it, this leads to inequalities. The inequalities caused by technology are vast and can range anywhere from economic to longevity. The obvious economic inequality allows the rich to become richer and the poor to become even poorer; the economic gap widens. Education is another example of inequality that can be intensified.

Various games are activities that have been around since the beginning of time has evolved into a technology based forum for all ages called video games. These types of games have become an extremely popular activity and are a big part of a lot of people’s everyday lives. Instead of looking at video games as a leisurely hobby that one plays in their spare time, it is now looked as a positive benefit for people to play. Playing video games are beneficial, according to some studies they can develop cognitive skills, create social connections, and stimulate creativity.
Video games lower violent behavior, help relieve stress, and do not cause social problems. Teens play video games to take their stress out instead of causing real violence. Kids acting violently towards others, they will go home and they will take their action and frustration out on the type of games they are playing. Also, while teens play online, they build up social abilities, make new friends, and connect with other kids from around the world. Parents and/or guardians always say “stop looking at that screen and stop playing video games.
In our time, technology has become one of our essential things in life; specifically video games. Video games are electronic system used to run games. They involve human interaction specially teenagers. Many researches have been done on the effects of video games showing that there is positive and negative impacts. As we know not all video games contain violent contents, but most of them are violent and mentally dangerous.
