Change is every day and has become the law of life. Changes in society are constant and always taking place. Sometimes it is so slow that people do not even notice it or so rapid and drastic. With economics, political and education fields are changing daily. Moreover, the majority of change comes through education. It comes down to teachers who make the most successful difference in culture and society.
Today’s schools are facing complex and difficult challenges. Our classrooms have many children with diverse needs, from active and healthy to those who have emotional, learning, or physical problems. One of the most significant issues that my district has is getting parents involved. In some of the schools, they have great PTO or PTA that support and buy needed supplies for their teachers and schools. But, most of the school have no PTO and PTA. This year, a group of teachers and I are working on activities and programs to get the parents involved with the school. Our first event brought in about twenty parents. We are not going to get defeated. We are going to try again next month around Thanksgiving.

With all the weather disaster that my community has had, flooding, fires, and hurricanes, my school have started collecting necessary items, clothes, food and supplies for our families that were affected by these disasters. But, not only that, we have started a clothes closet for children that have to have a change of clothes. I have started collecting books from parents, teachers, the community, and students, so I can begin to build the mobile library to take to students in my neighborhood that do not have access to the public …show more content…

I would try and make it easy for the children and their parents by actually going into their homes to work with them. Within this program, I would like to have a mobile library so the children can pick out books that they can read when I am not there. Another goal has to do with technology. I would like to provide workshops and computer programs to help parents help their children. The studios would include help with the internet, programs, and activities that will help their readers be lucky. It is essential that there are programs for children that do not have access or cannot afford the internet. Our society is losing too many children because they cannot read. We as teachers must create enough opportunities for students to have success. If we are not then the poverty levels will continue to grow and affect everyone. Frederick Douglass says, “Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.” Reading opens so many doors that help children to succeed.” We need to keep these doors open for our students to
