King Kamehameha I born 1758-1819 was the first chief to ever conquer all the island of Hawaii. He won against all the chief of the islands. Adolf Hitler born in 1889-1945 was a Germany soldier in 1914 at age 25. He fought for his and his people’s right even if other believed it is wrong. Even though they are unknown to each other, that make them so similar or different?
Cesar Chavez and Gandhi are both two different people that defended other people. They both wanted to accomplish an important goal that would change the future for other people to have their rights. Cesar wanted to get paid more money for what they were working for by protesting to the owner of the company and not eat the food the company distributed. Gandhi wanted India to be free once again and not ruled by Great Britain so he gather people to go protest to the government he wanted to accomplish a goal that would help the people of India. He was remembered to a model to the people for helping to free India.
The first two presidents of the United States, George Washington and John Adams, had differing levels of success in their presidencies. George Washington had a far more admired presidency, as he was able to maintain neutrality in wars and prevent conflict within the United States. He knew that the country was too weak to fight in wars, so he avoided conflict by maintaining neutrality in a war involving France and Britain. Although some did not support his decision, he knew that the country did not have enough strength to survive a loss in a war. It proved to be the right decision.
George Washington and Abraham Lincoln were both presidents that had a huge impact on the structure of our beautiful country. As they built and thought of knew theories and ideas the country expanded to what is now called the United States of America. With very different times and struggles though both presidencies it was always clear that as leaders of the United States they were going to finish anything they started or fought for to keep the country intact. Even though both these presidents were considered successful they were both motivated and raised in totally different ways. Washington was raised in a wealthy lifestyle as he grew up.
Growing tension between Britain and its American colonies in the mid-sixteenth century provoked many colonists to express their heartfelt opinions about the matter. Some had the ability to publish their articles that became widely circulated throughout the American colonies, fostering the enlargement of those who realized the enhancements of governing their own nation. Others took to writing their community leaders asking for action to be taken against the broken relations with the British Empire. Thomas Paine was one colonist who took to the press to spread his ideas about separating from Britain in Common Sense. Phillis Wheatley took a different approach and wrote a personal letter to George Washington, then general, enclosed with a poem titled “To His Excellency General Washington” which was later edited by none other than Thomas Paine before being published.
When comparing Sam Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams, we can see that there are some similarities and differences between the men. Perhaps the most notable relation this group has, is that they were all formal presidents and had some type of power or ownership. The qualities of all four men are often seen as opposed to each other. One similarity for example, with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson was that they were prosperous Virginian plantation owners and held slaves. Jefferson and Adams were both well educated people and knew about the law.
What does Martin Luther King, Thomas Paine and Henry David Thoreau have in common? They stood up and made a difference by protesting. All three of these people protested different things at different times but all three had one common goal: unity. Martin Luther King protested civil rights for African Americans. He was the dominant leader of the United States civil rights movement.
Having a president is something that no country had ever done, or thought to do. The first election was in 1789, where George Washington became the first President. Eight years later in 1797, John Adams was elected to be our second president. Four years after that, Thomas Jefferson became our third president. No one knew exactly how this new idea would affect the United States, but we had to take a leap of faith.
In the 240 years that the United States has been a country, there have been 45 Presidents to lead it through peace and war. From the birth of our nation through revolution, to a war between the states, to interventionism in great wars that encompassed the whole world, the United States has had presidents at the helm to steer it through all forms of conflict and keep the Constitution intact. While there have been many great men to lead this country, there are two presidents who are kept in historical regard for the extraordinary strength they showed in trying to preserve not only the constitution, but this great union as well. Have you ever seen a peaceful protest or something that helped everyone and not just one person? Well, that is what Mahatma Gandhi and Jane Addams did. Mahatma Gandhi peacefully protested against the South Africans and the Indians. Jane Addoms helped everyone by inspiring a building that everyone could meet up in. Mahatma Gandhi peacefully protested for the Indians to be let free from the French.
These individuals all changed the world for different reasons, for example, by improving international relations, transforming the social, cultural, and political scene in our country and worldwide, and perhaps most importantly by advocating peace and equal rights for all people and all races. President Obama, in addition to being the first African-American US president, can be seen as a global leader on the world political scene. He has improved the world in many ways and contributed to maintain peace among superpowers. In my opinion, his finest achievements for our country were when he brought it out of the worst economic recession since the Great Depression and developed policies to give health insurance access to all people. Mohandas Gandhi was a leader of the Indian independence movement under the British rule.
Civil Disobedience by Thoreau is the refusal to obey government demands or commands and nonresistance to consequent arrest and punishment this had an extreme effect on Martin Luther King Jr and Mahatma Gandhi. They were fighting for different beliefs. However they both had the same believes about civil disobedience and they both end in the same place, jail. In the first place Gandhi believed that the only way to confronted injustice was with non-violent methods.
We, humans, have the ability to do amazing things and achieve heights we’ve never seen, but only if we work together. Great leaders rise up to the occasion. Influencers can impact the lives of countless others. Anyone, from a common man to a wealthy woman, can change the world. It only takes
Malcolm X and Mahatma Gandhi were two incredible men, both fighting for independence among their people. These distinctly different men were among the strongest fighters who set foot in authority. Malcolm X, an African-American leader spread religion to combat the weakening of his fellow African-Americans, as well as to expand the supporters of Muslim beliefs. Mahatma Gandhi, a leader in India’s independence movement from the British, weakened British rule through civil resistance. While Malcolm X and Gandhi both fought for their people’s freedom, their religion, beliefs, and methods for achieving independence differ in certain aspects but also have similar elements.
To start this off I would like to talk about our two topics That I will be comparing and contrasting, Hitler and Gandhi. First things is first is to tell you about who they are so I will start with Gandhi. Gandhi was an important man who was inspired by peace when he was to lead India’s movement of independence for the civil right of Indians. He was a man who inspired millions to follow him on his journey and I believe was an amazing, successful leader. He did grow up with an education as Hitler tried but failed, which could have been the reason to the man’s anger during his leading.
