At this point in the program, I have to use the knowledge acquired to change our profession. I have also gained confidence in my practice secondary to using evidence based. I concur with you that the CIPD framework is a great tool that helps with organization skills that helps to produce evidence based finished products to promote the centennial vision. Furthermore, with RMU professors have equipped us with incredible knowledge that prompts us to be active leaders in occupational therapy profession, and eradicate passivity to make our profession powerful.
As the new person among a long established team, I am learning so much right now. I have learned about Northrop Grumman’s standard of conduct: “Do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.” I have learned about what is expected of me regarding service level agreements. I have learned how each agency operates in different ways. I believe I am developing this knowledge well.
Shipler’s writing made me look back on my life and feel compassion for those that interviewed. To read some of the struggles that working poor face daily was overwhelming like working odd hours at low rates like Caroline and how she decided to have her teeth removed to get dentures paid by the state only to find out how ill-fitting they were and she couldn’t wear them or life as migrant worker in the fields of North Carolina; which one of my co-workers is from a small town next to Mt. Olive. When I was talking to her about the chapter regarding her hometown area and the housing conditions where the migrant workers lived. What she described was similar to what Shipler stated if not a little worse. She made a point that made me think about it
This is accurate. I 'm currently an intern with a federal agency and I was told about this opportunity about a week before it came out (One of the agents I 'm close with and work with knows a supervisor in HHS). I actually got a phone call as soon as the annoucment was put on USA JOBS and was told to get to a computer as soon as possible and apply (It was put up like around 4-5 PM). 60 percent is WHO you know and the other 40 is WHAT you know. That is what I have learned the last few years.
Last 2 months, I have learned a lot of stuff that I was not familiar with. I never learned how to think critically and did not know about elements of thought. I am glad I got an opportunity to attend the Command and General Staff Officer Course because I got to meet a lot of people with different branch, background and experiences. More importantly, I got to learn from others with a lot of experience and also, I get to share my knowledge and experience. The CGSOC made me think differently compare to prior to the attendance.
The summer of 2016, I was lucky enough to volunteer at Dr. Leonid Tafler 's private practive of Family Medicine. Dr. Tafler is a DO physician, who performs osteopathic manipulation under anesthesia. He has been involved in research with this practice of manipulation under anesthesia, and has had many positive results; most of his patients report decreased, or no pain at all after this procedure. Being in Dr. Tafler 's office, I not only saw first hand how using one 's own body to heal themselves can be extremely beneficial, but I also saw how a DO physician treats their patients. Dr. Tafler was very kind to his patients, as well as culturally competent.
Coming into the U450 class on the very first day, I was prepared for notes and learning specifically about the RA position and what it entails, but instead I learned more about myself and what drives me. I didn’t learn techniques about the job instead I maximized my capability of communication, being vulnerable can help people understand you better, and I was able to reach another level of trust in others. On the day where we all sat down and told each other about something that had deeply impacted us, I didn’t know if I could do it at first but hearing other stories allowed me have this mutual trust with my advisors and classmates I couldn’t of previously imagined. I am also interested in EVMS, because your Care Forward Curriculum mirrors objectives of my past degree programs: .preparation and compassion. As a DNIMAS scholar at Norfolk State, I was trained to learn at an advanced rate and seek resources, so that I could make the most informed decisions pertaining to my curriculum and career. Research, internships and weekly class conversations with graduate and professional schools were requirements of the program that prepared my class for the expectations of our career fields. EVMS continues to emphasize that concept and teaches in patterns that smoothly transition the student into the physician. The CFC also reinforces my personal objective of cost conscious care.
Zia Lohrasbi SGA Reflection Paper Looking back at the projects we completed this year, I would split this last semester into two categories concerning SGA member participation and the different behavior traits evaluated on the other form. Those two categories are student life events and student advocates. Concerning student life events we were very successful if not rushed. I think one of our better traits as a team is being able to respond to emergencies efficiently. Emergencies in the sense of time in that, for these events this past semester, each was planned within a week of the date which is important to note concerning our workload this year as opposed to last year in that previous SGA teams were able to plan the same number of events
