In the novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone the author J.K. Rowling creates a world full of magic spells and trickery. With this setting she allows the reader to empathize with the main characters of the story. Rowling illustrates that fate can sometimes be overruled by the choice of one's own human will, but she also firmly warns and displays the consequences and risks of becoming too reliant upon human will. The main character Harry Potter, casts his strong courage within his decision making. It tends to begin before his destined journey to Hogwarts, in his raising by his relatives, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon. Hints from Hogwarts seem to become overwhelming to him and the Dursley's, as he is called to Hogwarts by a special request of Dumblebore. The request of Dumblebore perhaps to be of fate, something out of Harry and the Dursley's hands, strictly ordering him to Hogwarts immediately on the night of his eleventh birthday. Despite, the forbidden responses of the Dursley's, Harry is determined to find out what this other world full of wizardry is about. So he sets out with Hagrid, *quote*. As Harry approaches the fate of his so-called destiny, he is quickly overran with the thoughts of where he will be placed among the four houses.
