When I was little I never wanted to play princess or cowboy, I always wanted to play doctor. RNs don’t play pretend they actually get to do the real life stuff. Have you ever wonder what it would be like to save someone's life! Well RNs don’t have to because they do it everyday. Growing up I was always around nurses, my mom, grandma, and now my sister. I would always hear the cool stories about how they saved a man that was in a car accident or how they just helped a little girl with a broken arm. One day I overheard my grandma talking to my sister about what she should be and I just remember my grandma telling her the reasons why she loved being an nurse and just seeing the way my grandma lit up talking about being a rn kind of push me to wanting to be one. The main reason I want to be a RN is because knowing you could save someone’s life and telling someone that their family member is ok and seeing the way that person lights up, becuase I just help save their family member would be the best feeling in the world. RNs have to communicate with many people for an example, they have to talk to patients, family members, other nurses, and doctors. Rns have to work in hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes. Some nurses go out of the state to help another country that don't have enough healthcare workers. But most RNs work in hospitals which have a dress code, which is just scrubs. Because people can get hurt at any time RNs have to work around the clock. They can work up to 24 hours of work in one day. The stress level for a RN can be really high because they have can deal grief when a patient dies, or emergencies add to the tension of patient care. Registered nurses may spend a lot of time walking, bending, stretching, and standing (Occupational Outlook Handbook). Rns have to work in a very public place and have to be able to control their
