Brandon, How would you attain your goal to strive for excellence and sportsmanship in all athletic programs? How is it that winning at least 50 percent of their games would help the Florida International athletic programs strive for excellence and sportsmanship? Having a winning record does not always translate to that team exhibiting sportsmanship. For example, throughout the recent program history of the University of Miami, there has been multiple occurrences of NCAA violations and they have had a winning record a majority of the time. The athletic programs at Florida International University should mandate that all student-athletes attend classes geared towards sportsmanship.

For a young baseball player one of the highest goals to achieve is hitting a homerun -for me that was all I wanted. I already achieved most of what I wanted in baseball, and one of my proudest was a no-hitter, but it was no home run. When I first realized how bad I wanted this feat was one night after a practice where all we did was just hit. The majority of my teammates hit at least one homerun that practice, but me I hit the fence but never was able to send one over. The car ride home after the practice was horrible, I was a mess.

I tracked my progress by how high my hand could go above the rim. I wanted to achieve this goal so I could become not only a better basketball player, but also increase my athletic ability. I wasn 't able to achieve my goal completely. I could dunk off of an alley-oop but I failed at dunking on my own.
One of the things that sets me apart from other students is my strong work ethic and my determination to succeed. I have always be taught that the only way to success is through hard work and persistence. Whenever I am working on something I do it to the best of my ability and I take great pride in it. Even when I fail at something I don’t get discouraged because I believe that failure is only a option if you allow it. As a student I can assure you that that I will work diligently and tireless and work toward excellence.
My fitness goal is to gain muscular strength (endurance) and to be flexible. I want to at least get a 40 on the pacer. In this, my short-term goal is to never give up while I am trying any of these techniques so that I can slowly improve on my goal. My previous goal was to get at least 25 pacers and to get 30 inches in sit and reach.
Some guys and maybe even girls that happen to play a sport might have that certain goal that they are determined to reach and won't stop until it is achieved. For example, in basketball, whether it may be to make a certain amount of baskets or catching as many passes in one handed during practice. My goal started when I began to play basketball I wanted to be able to dunk, something about the ability to be up so high in the air and slamming the ball into the hoop with such aggression was so mesmerizing. Going to open gyms and not seeing alot of people with the ability to dunk the ball would give me that sense of relieve that soon I’ll be the only one to dunk the ball and everybody would look in awe. Took me to the end of my sophomore year to
Some people may give up on a goal because their actions are not producing the results that they wanted. This does not mean that your goal is unachievable, or you are not able to do it; it just means is that you need to adjust your actions. Creating smaller, easily achievable goals within a shorter time span can give you greater confidence to go for the larger goal. Before setting your goals, you need to take a good look at where you are right now. No-one plans a journey by starting from somewhere other than where they are, so you need to be very clear about the reality of your current situation.
