O’Shea Jackson Sr. is well known as Ice Cube. He was born June 15, 1969, in Los Angeles he made this fact known in his music hit creation called “Straight Outta Compton”. He rose to popularity as a member of the atrocious gangsta rap group N.W.A. in the late 1980s together with Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, DJ Yella, and MC Ren. Following his independence in 1989, Cube has built a successful career in both acting and recording. Ice Cube is currently 53 years old and married to Kimberly Woodruff where they had five kids. Ice Cube stated that “Having children changed him from boy to man” (Ice Cube).
Ice Cube was known as a member of N.W.A. lead by the famous Dr.Dre when he sprouted the attention of the big name Dr.Dre he immediately took the opportunity. The hard-hitting sound and lyrics of N.W.A, one of the forerunners of gangsta rap, shook the music industry and helped the group sell millions of records. Straight Outta Compton, the group's second album, launched the young guys to stardom in 1988. Their record, which was anchored by the popular single "F*** tha Police," cemented their reputation as one of the most contentious acts in the music industry while also probing the complex relationship between Black youth and the police. …show more content…

Ice Cube was almost as good of an actor and producer as he is a rapper. He has influenced pop culture and also the movie industry producing an all-time list of hits that all either consist of comedy, violence, drama, action, and horror. These all-time hits are, “The Longshot”,” Anaconda”, “Straight Outta Compton”, “Boyz N The Hood”, “Are We There Yet”, “Ride Along”, and my all-time favorite “Friday”, “Next Friday”, and “Friday After the Next” these are all very great movies that consist of at least one of the genres. In 2016 he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with his rap group N.W.A . He also was selected for multiple BET awards, and Grammys throughout his rap and production
