John had courage and boldness which Ichabod lacked. Each courtship and book portrayed heavy emotion and feeling. This was a strong theme in books written in the Romantic Era and these courtships were a definite example of that. John Alden was emotional and spiritual while courting Priscilla. Miles was cowardly while asking for Priscilla’s hand in marriage.
Tricky Ambition Ambition can be a very tricky thing. Too much ambition can sometimes be bad. However if someone uses ambition in the correct way, it can be a very good thing. In the book Mississippi Trial, 1955, Hiram, the main character, goes through phases where he has the right amount of ambition and times when he has too much. When Hiram decided to get to the bottom of what happened to Emmett Till that was the correct amount of ambition and determination.
For example he creeps on girls all the time and in the story it said that he walks little kids home than tells them to say to their older sister that he walked them home and that he is a really good guy. Also Ichabod thinks that he is top dog in this little town they live in. When in a reality it is probably Brunt but Ichabod people like him because it is more of a pity like. For example when Katrina was dancing with him all night honestly who would like Ichabod in that sort of way, literally nobody would. In this story Ichabod was saying he was scared of the dark and scared of ghost and things like that.
Most people liked him because he was the only guy who was smart in the story and tall. Everyone liked him for the stuff he did, but brom didn’t. Why? Because Ichabod like the same girl as he did. Brom got pissed off because he saw Ichabod dancing with Katrina and when it was time to tell stories Brom decided to tell about the headless horse man
One night in the town of Sleepy Hollow there was a man who stood across the Sleepy Hollow bridge. It was the headless horseman. He stood across the bridge waiting on someone. The person was Ichabod Crane. That night Ichabod was at a party where everyone was talking about ghost.
Ichabod Crane is a funny character. He tells scary stories to different people, but he himself is scared of the dark. He comes across one incident where he is scared of his own footsteps. He is afraid of people. He doesn’t want to cause any trouble to the landlord, so he is always ready to listen to them.
In the story, he is Ichabod’s greatest rival in the fight for Katrina’s hand. Brom teased Ichabod the stories about ghost and goblins to makes him scares and had compete against with him to win the fruit punch. Ichabod Crane disappears, then Brom Bones marries Katrina. In the movie, he is who scares Ichabod in a prank by posing as the Headless Horseman. He arrived and shoots at the Headless Horseman, but the Headless Horseman doesn’t try to kill Ichabod or Brom.
In the novel entitled The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, the main character, Ichabod Crane, lives in the superstitious town known as Sleepy Hollow. The fictional book focuses on many different tales of ghosts and goblins haunting Sleepy Hollow, but the most famous story is the tale of the Headless Horseman. This is a tale of a Hessian who fought in the revolutionary war and was decapitated on the battlefield. It is said that the Hessian searches for his head every night, on horseback, in a church yard, and kills anything that gets in his way. The three topics addressed captivating in this novel are direct characterization, foreshadowing, and tone.
In one of the paragraphs the author tried talking about how Ichabod hangs out with the ladies – chilling, telling ghost stories, doing their housework. I don’t think that was normal in 1820’s men and women did their work themselves. People didn’t interfere much with each others activities. Todays world we are different. We are open now.
Although Ichabod is the protagonist of the story, he is more of an anti-hero who does not seem to deserve marriage to Katrina. That he fails is a kind of poetic justice to punish him for his selfishness. Brom seems somewhat more genuine than Ichabod in his attempts to win Katrina’s hand, for he is willing to fight tooth and nail to defeat his rival, while for Ichabod it is more of a scheme. Ichabod’s passivity and his blatant fantasizing about Katrina’s money (but not about her) make us think that, coquette or not, Katrina can do better. Brom is more a man of the people, so readers are more likely to be glad that Katrina has chosen him.
A young schoolteacher from Connecticut, who comes to Sleepy Hollow to teach the town’s children, presumably just for a time. He rotates between living at the homes of his various students for his food and lodging. Ichabod is tall, lanky, and somewhat awkward-looking. He loves singing and dancing—he also gives singing lessons—and believes he is excellent at both (there’s a touch of irony in the narration that suggests he may not be as talented as he thinks). Ichabod is shrewd and clever, knowing when to treat his students strictly and when to be more obsequious to his hosts.

Essentially, Macbeth becomes power hungry and goes on a rampant killing spree that causes Lady Macbeth and Macbeth to be overcome with guilt. They both contain an excessive amount of desires due to their ultimate goal being for Macbeth to be crowned king.
What is ambition? Ambition is the determination to achieve one’s goals. In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare the protagonist, Macbeth, possesses ambition, which led to his downfall. In the play Macbeth’s ambition is driven by prophecies from witches and his wife’s aspiration. Ambition caused Macbeth to commit multiple homicides and after those wrongdoings Macbeth is left with nothing.
