Training and qualifications are different skills or types of experience or knowledge that make someone suitable to do a particular job or activity. Specific knowledge, competencies and skills are expected of ECEC practitioners. Training and qualifications require people who are interested in early child education to have certificate diploma-level. The National Regulations also contain requirements for first aid qualifications, emergency asthma management training and anaphylaxis management training. In order for a childcare center to be considered as a high quality, it is essential to employ qualified staff. Research also provide the evidence that the younger the children, the more important it is for them to be under the care of knowledgeable and qualified educators. Trained child care staff proves to add to the overall quality of a centre. They are trained on knowledge of child development and therefore, enable the care providers to make informed judgments and to ensure that the activities and learning experiences provided will be age and developmentally appropriate.
