When going into the field of an Early Childhood Educator there are different values that one should have. In my opinion Early Childhood Educators should have foundation skills of how children learn, should know how to support diverse knowledge, should be able to model the correct language, should have classroom management skills, and should be able to create a safe environment for all children. Personal Information I am a student attending Miami-Dade college and I’m taking education courses. When it comes to being a teacher I have always wanted to be one. When I was, younger I would always babysit my cousins and I loved taking care of them. When we came back home from school I would sit my cousins down at the table and we would do our homework together. If they every needed help I would explain to them systematically how to do the problem.

Being an early childhood teacher is a continuous journey; it has the potential to be challenging, fortifying and constantly changing. Nevertheless, exceeding all else it is rewarding. There not only is the role of the teacher crucial but also the role of the Early Childhood Facility, it along with the teachers take on numerous roles during the day. The environment establishes the framework for everything that happens within the facilities. In other words, it’s a location where children and educators spend long hours daily.
Abstract As early childhood educators, we the teachers have differing philosophies and approaches to education of our own. There are many different types of early childhood programs. Each program is unique in its philosophies, methods, and program goals. Every one of us early childhood educators is unique in our own way, which makes each early childhood program experience different and special to everyone involved.
Early Childhood Education: Theoretical Perspectives Abstract Studies confirm that high-quality education early in a child’s life leads to continued success in school, at work, and results in a healthier well-rounded student who is emotionally and socially strong. In most early childhood programs and schools, technology will be part of the learning background of the future. To make sure this new technology is used effectively, we must confirm that teachers are fully trained and supported. In this paper, theoretical perspectives of child development are discussed with the basic elements of learning program.
My educational philosophy has been in development for 15 years. It is a product of my own experiences in school, as well as my opinions on what skills should be taught, and to what extent different components of the child should be developed. The academic, social, emotional, and cognitive development of the children can be heavily influenced in PreK and kindergarten classrooms. It is dependent on the teacher to conduct their classroom in a manner that successfully facilitates the development of each child’s faculties. As a future teacher, it is critical that I enter the classroom with a clear philosophy in regards to how I believe education should be conducted.
2. A strong understanding of issues around ‘quality’ in early childhood education, and the role of leadership in this regards. All children have the right to quality education and with the right leadership provided by all educators, children are able to find a sense of belonging, being and becoming. Families and the community trust that early childhood children are being cared for accordingly and the quality of care is of a high standard. According to Rodd (2013, p. 144) educators who are dedicated help to raise the quality of education within the service as the standards and expectations are lifted.
Early Childhood education becomes a win-win for both child and student. Not only is this benefiting the present, but also it is helping out their future self and teacher. If a child is coming straight from a preschool into elementary, they already have the fundamentals needed to excel. The teacher is able to teach to the whole class as a unit and not single certain children out. The saying is “no child left behind”, but often there is a straggler or two.
Practicing within a professional capacity in an early childhood education setting is a complex and challenging career choice for all within this sector. The function of the adult is of fundamental importance in achieving quality in both provision of the service and in the experiences of young children. An early childhood education setting should be recognised and developed as a learning environment, not only for the children but also for the adults staffing it. The framework for holistic learning and development is enacted by the early childhood educator. The early childhood educator creates an interesting and challenging environment, interacts with the children in a responsive manner, and enables learning through trusting and respectful relationships
I create a loving an accepting environment where the children feel free and safe to express themselves. The most important role of the teacher should be to maintain a safe and healthy environment. My philosophy of how children learn and develop is through play and exploration. All children learn at their own pace.
Honestly until I was told to write this paper, I never thought of my teaching objectives, after much reflection on what they are my main concerns are in the classroom. Being most eager to be involved in a profession where I can apply my own values and mold the next generation into something exceptionally productive. Believing truly significant qualities that I want to give to my students are these; I want to educate, encourage, and inspire. However, once I put some thought into it I would like to find an approach and method, of teaching used by others when teaching children with developmental disabilities.
I believe that as an educator one of most important bonds to create is with the families we work with. Treating as families and parents with the upmost respect helps create strong relationships, which in the long run allows children to get the most out of their experience. Parents and family’s are the children’s first teachers and because of this are an incredibly import aspect of the children’s learning. I believe its best when families and educators sustain open, truthful and consistent communication.
Similar previous experience that I participated in were personally rewarding and professionally fulfilling. For instant, 10-month certification in Non-profit executive education; another 10-month program in early childhood leadership called, “Taking Charge of Change” brought personal and professional fulfillment. I have been passionate about early childhood field for many years. While working towards Ed. D program my interest extended towards research and policy in early childhood education.
