2. A strong understanding of issues around ‘quality’ in early childhood education, and the role of leadership in this regards.
All children have the right to quality education and with the right leadership provided by all educators, children are able to find a sense of belonging, being and becoming. Families and the community trust that early childhood children are being cared for accordingly and the quality of care is of a high standard. According to Rodd (2013, p. 144) educators who are dedicated help to raise the quality of education within the service as the standards and expectations are lifted. Educators who are passionate, determine and are great leaders help to create a successful learning environment.
Quality of education has been lifted within services due to the accountability, which educators must comply with. The national quality framework is the basis, helping to lift the quality of education within early learning services. According to ACECQA (2017, p. 7) this includes the national quality standards, national quality rating, assessment process and streamlined regulatory arrangements. Quality education is now monitored with results published for educators, families and the community to view. According to Campbell-Barr & Leeson (2016, p. 30) this is simply a snapshot in time. According to Woodhead (1999, p. 115) the quality framework includes issues such as; context-sensitive, allowing for diversity and recognises values and principals. Every child is different and may require different care to their peers. Every child has a different background and their beliefs will differ to their peers.
