Both class discussions and chapter 5 in the book “Education the Practice and Profession of Teaching” has allowed me to gain knowledge of historical and current trends in policies and practices that affect early childhood and childhood educators because in the reading the authors speak in depth about social reform with in education, they tell about how policies were created and how they influence our education now for example in the text there is mention of attendance laws that protected children by educating them and keeping them from working. From the reading I also learned about ESEA which made federal government responsible, this act provided funds for poverty program as for current programs Bush’s passes NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT which
They should come to school with the structure already built up from their parents. Secondly, Colin stated, “when does the learning process begin.” “It begins the first time a child in a mother’s arms”. When the child is born they should be that is my mother, she will teach me about everything. The child will learn from their mother because they think of their mother as a guardian.
The learning process begins at an early age. “Once we are born, we instantly start reading the world around us.” (Souto-Manning, Pg 123) The earlier we start learning, the faster we start shaping our future. This is why early childhood programs are so important.
Personal Information I am a student attending Miami-Dade college and I’m taking education courses. When it comes to being a teacher I have always wanted to be one. When I was, younger I would always babysit my cousins and I loved taking care of them. When we came back home from school I would sit my cousins down at the table and we would do our homework together. If they every needed help I would explain to them systematically how to do the problem.
My philosophy on education today, would have to be that I believe that all children are unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to growand mature emptionally intellectually physically, and socially. I am a teacher at a pre-schoolalready so I knowand see everyday how unique every childs is. Not all children are the same or learn the same either. That why teachers are great at what we do by providing each student with different opprotuities on how to learn. When teachers role is to guild, providing access to information rather then acting as the primary source of information, the students search for knowledge is met as they learn to find answers to their questions.
Philosophy Statement “The dreams begins, most of the time, with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and leads you on to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called truth. ”- Dan Rather I believe each child should be given a fair chance to learn to reach the type of success

As many would guess education is likely the main thing that someone who hires an early childhood professional looks at. This along with someones work background are very important parts to hiring an early childhood professional. Although these are very important, there are many other very important things that are looked for when hiring an early childhood professional. In the article “12 Characteristics of Effective Early Childhood Teacher”, on NAEYC.org, Laura J. Colker talks about what makes a good early childhood educator.
This theory has a direct affect on how an early childhood education program is set up as it is the most straight forward method and relatively the most simplistic method of early childhood education application. Educators who choose to practice this theory likely would use many visual displays (such as graphs or charts) to enforce desired behaviour; predominantly leading by action and encouraging the children to learn by watching, absorbing the concept and furthermore by doing. This is based on the concept that children will copy what they see and watch, followed by the encouragement and validation through the educator using motivational methods. This theory is evidently most effective on visual learners as the methods are predominantly used
I think each of us as (educators) have our own educational Philosophy on the purpose of education. Some could say it the social adaptation when schools are designed to meet the needs of the community served. Others would say the cognitive process: how to learn-lifelong learners. In the future as a special education teacher this presentation will provide my own philosophy, share a future practice of strategies that can help me as the special education teacher and to help student/students with a learning disability serving as a Reference Guide.
First my perspective of Tricia is that she chose a career in teaching. This is not just a job for her. This is something that she is going to do for a life time, so she wants to make the best out of her education. Then there is Roxie she chose this job because she enjoys doing it and Tricia has inspired her just enough to really start thinking about why she is doing the job she is doing and how infants grow an learn. Lastly there is Lil.
Introduction In early childhood education, it is important for teachers to always consider and understand children and the families’ needs. Early childhood teachers cannot only work with their colleagues to face children and the families’ needs but also need to work with multi-disciplinary to collaborate the ideas with each other and discuss the best outcome for the children and the families in early childhood education setting together. So, the more explanation about the multi-disciplinary team is that teachers with different professionals such as psychologists, child social worker, police, adult social worker, health visitor or court working together to provide different services and support for children and the families’ needs. They are diverse professional groups who work together in order to collaborate, reflect, access and support children’s development, health and learning and also families' needs.
Quality in the Early Years is based on the respected educational goals and practice of the cultural communities making up a society. A definition of quality in the early years differs by the perspectives of each of the settings stakeholders (Huntsman, 2008). It comprises of a range of things that change between and depends entirely on the needs of each individual. Today in Ireland early year’s educators in settings throughout the country are increasingly more challenged to provide quality services that meet both the requirements and expectations of each child attending their settings and also their families (CECDE, 2006). Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) has in many countries become a policy priority.
Based on the question given, my essay will be focusing more on the involvement of parents in early childhood education. As an educator, I find that involvement from parents in a young child’s education is something that is lacking in this day and age. The reason being for this may be due the fact that some parents may not fully understand what parental involvement truly is, some me not know what the importance of benefits to parental involvement are. Listed below are the explanations on what is defined as parental involvement as well as some of the importance, benefits, challenges and also a few suggestions on ways to involve parents.
THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION IN THE USA 1.Introduction Early childhood is an essential stage of life in terms of a child 's physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Growth of mental and physical abilities progress at an amazing rate and a very high proportion of learning takes place from birth to age six. It is a time when children particularly need high quality personal care and learning experiences. Approximately 60 to 70 percent of preschool-age children in the USA attend an early childhood program or child care program out of the home, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
