The viewpoints of animal welfare in cattle are seen differently by people who live in urban areas compared to producers of cattle that live in rural areas. Since we have looked at how farmers and ranchers practiced good animal welfare we can better understand how much they care about cattle and how they want to make their lives as pleasurable as possible. I would encourage anyone who has never been to a farm or ranch to tour one and see the connection producers have with their cattle. I have been raised in rural western Kansas on a small farm. My family also owns a cattle ranch in eastern Kansas. Cattle are a very big part of life for me as well as much of my family and friends. They are a way of lively hood for most of us. I love watching a cow bring another calf into the world, or seeing that cow clean and protect that calf. To us farmers and rancher’s cattle are our first priority. We get up in the morning and feed them before we eat breakfast and make sure they are fed before we eat supper. We make sure they are healthy and comfortable in order for them to have the best life they possibly can. To us farmers and ranchers’ cattle are our children. We get attached to them, care for them when they get sick, and help them grow. Now the target audience who is people from urban cities also values animal welfare in cattle. However, they want stricter animal welfare to give cattle more rights. They believe that cattle are being harmed and go through unnecessary pain and stress during their
