RE: report indicating if Ms. Ilana Hawley is a victim of Domestic Violence
When assessing a person to see if they are a victim of domestic violence there are several things you must take into consideration during this assessment. There are well-known and well-documented symptoms and questions that are looked at to make the determination on if there is domestic violence. In evaluating Ilana Hawley the following standard signs and symptoms were used to assess if Ms. Ilana Hawley is currently or was ever a victim of domestic:
Signs and symptoms of possible abuse:
• Seem afraid or anxious to please their partner
• Go along with everything their partner says and does
• Check in often with their partner to report where they are and what they're doing

The police report and the DCF report were also used in the evaluation process. These reports do indicate that Mr. Powell reported criminal activities of Ms. Hawley, but they also show Mr. Powell recanted his statement stating he was upset with Ms. Hawley was the reason he has misrepresented the situation to the police. A person who is abusive would recant a statement that gives them power over a victim.
Ms. Hawley is aware of the damage that can happen to a woman in crisis as a victim of Domestic violence and because of this minimal knowledge she has enrolled herself in Tunxis Community College with a major in Human Services: Family Violence Intervention Option. Ms. Hawley has enrolled in this major to better help and understand the victims of Domestic Violence. Ms. Hawley has a strong sense of self, her self-esteem is strong. She has goals for the future that she has not in the past let Mr. Powell interfere with nor will she allow him or any other person she is in a relationship with interfere
