I do not think that the Ninetheenth-Century Immigrants were uprooted. Most immigrants that moved to America were trying to start and find a better life. They moved to America because there was a lot more job opportunities then their homelands. Some even came having the intentions to move back to their homeland once they had made a good enough living in America. The people that moved back to their homeland could start a better life with what they had earned in America.
For example, incapable of coping with crowds of Syrian refugees, Hungarians have been trying to fence off the flow of Syrians. They had to close Keleti train station in Budapest not to let them further into the continent. A number of Syrian immigrants were halted on their way to Austria and taken to the camp in Bicske, not far from the Hungarian capital. The problem is that no country in the European Union has a valid immigration policy to deal with the current situation.

Immigration has always been a part of American culture, in fact, it is the basis of how our country was formed. Immigration, both legal and illegal, has become a key focal point in today’s society. In a collection of essays titled “Reinventing the Melting Pot: The New Immigrant and What It Means to Be American,” Jamar Jacoby has a piece titled “The New Immigrants and the Issue of Assimilation” originally published in 2004. Jacoby creates an argument that although beneficial to our country, many immigrants are entering the United States where they are forced to spend their lives at the bottom of the economy, and where their assimilation feels forced. Jacoby’s purpose for writing this piece is to encourage readers that Americans are the problem
As the closing of the frontier began, Americans celebrated the 400th anniversary of Columbus 's arrival to the new world. It was a chance for America to exhibit its power. The fair showcased the products of progress. According to Ben Wattenberg, “There was a 22,000-pound block of cheese from Canada, and the world 's largest cannon, from Germany” (pbs.org). Wattenberg also stated that by the turn of the century, social scientists created a system using numbers to define the standards of beauty and the status of the ideal man and woman.
Growing up in Southern California, I was constantly surrounded by people with different ethnic backgrounds. As I grew older, I found myself to be most passionate about issues surrounding the intersections of race, gender, and class. When arriving in Berlin, I had previous knowledge that there were a large number of Turkish and Arab immigrants. Because of my minor in Arabic and interests in Middle Eastern politics and Islam, I found the Turkish and Arab population to be a large focus of my attention during my time here. Coming from Orange County where a large Arab population resides, many of my friends are of Middle Eastern descent.
Alongside the route, there were various things or experiences that the migrants experienced. Basically, there were numerous accidents that they encountered for instance death as a result of being run over by wagons. Another one was accidents due to gunshots from half-cocked pistols in their wagons or from various individuals who at times used to fool around with guns. Conversely, the migrants contracted various ailments majorly yellow fever Oregon fever. At least two-thirds of the migrants lost their lives due to this quick killing disease.
Throughout time, history finds a way of repeating itself. In the 1600’s, immigrants came from Europe to America and wiped out the Native Americans. At first, the Native American’s welcomed the newcomers, but over time, their trust became their downfall as their land was confiscated and a huge percentage of their population were killed. Four hundred years later, the same thing is happening with the Muslim invasion of Europe. Due to the crisis in Syria, refugees are fleeing the country and Europe has opened their borders to them, yet, if you look closely, approximately 70% of the Muslims invading are grown men, many of whom are criminals and soldiers.

America The Land of opportunity, still being said by many but is it really true? Many people even today leave their home countries in search of better life for themselves and their children so they come over to America. This was true during early 1900’s also called an Era of Industrialization when thousands of people of Mexican descent migrated to America from Mexico to find opportunities that they didn’t have back in Mexico. America was the land of opportunity to mexican people to an extent since it provided them with jobs, but along with the job they were handed with racial segregation, discrimination and exploitations. There were more cons than pros that came along with the opportunities.
Immigration has shaped America for centuries, building the foundations for what could have been a great country, but is now resentful. Once begging for more travelers, America has now began pushing them away, turning their backs on the people who they were once welcoming with open arms. Immigrants will make the long journey to America, fighting obstacles along the way, only to be sent back home once they get to the United States. Even refugees are not safe from deportation; many people are sent back to their home countries as soon as they reach America, despite the treacherous conditions they fought along the way. The American government claims that they do not have enough money to support the ever increasing population of America, as well as immigrants and refugees, but that does not excuse sending innocent people back to war-torn countries in which they are persecuted, and-in extreme cases- even killed.
